Himachal Assembly adjourns sine die

The Monsoon session of Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly adjourned sine die after holding a total of seven sittings of the house.

Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania complimented the members of Treasury and Opposition benches along with Vidhansabha Staff, State Administration, Police and Security officials, and media for extending their support for the third and monsoon session.

He said that the house was convened on September 18 and today adjourned sine die after holding seven sittings.
He said that a total of eight bills were tabled, discussed, and passed in the house. 

The speaker said that the session was highly fruitful in terms of productiveness as members highlighted issues of public interest in the house and the Government completed the entire agenda listed for the business. He said that in the house remained in the session for 36.35 hrs. He said that the house was about to reamined in session for 35 hrs therefore the productivity of the session was 106 percent which is more than expected. During the session, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu was allowed to speak for five hours and the Leader of Opposition for 2.48 hours. 
In the session important issues of public interest were discussed through questions and suggestions were given which would have far-reaching consequences. 

 During this session, total notices of 537 questions were received, in which answers were provided by the government on the notices of 369 starred and 168 unstarred questions.

The house listed and discussed eight issues under Rule 61, and five issues under Rule 62. three under rule 101, one day in the session were fixed as non-official members in which three non-official resolutions were presented and two resolution was moved by the House to the next session.
The government also passed a resolution under rule 102 to provide the Rs 1200 Crore package by the center. In the resolution, a total of 52 members spoke including 28 of the ruling 21 of the opposition, and three Independent. The resolution was discussed for 3 hours and 55 minutes.
Under Rule 130 three topics were fixed for discussion. On which the honorable members discussed meaningfully. Apart from this, 8 government bills were also introduced in the assembly and passed after discussion and one was passed with amendment by the Government.

 Through special mention under rule 324, two subjects were raised in the assembly and members were apprised of the facts in this regard by the government. Two issues differ for the next session. A total of 85 reports of the committees of the assembly were presented in the assembly.
Under rule 63 state Government presented the report of a committee constituted to legalise the use of cannabis for medicinal use in the state. Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri also presented the white paper report on the state’s Financial situation.

Apart from this, documents related to their respective departments were also placed on the floor of the House by the Ministers and important statements were also given.

” To create awareness about the working of the legislature  about 513 students, the Shimla Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and all the counselors also witnessed the proceedings of the seven days, which is the basis of the strength of the parliamentary system and the youth being attracted towards a democratic system.” Speaker added.
