BJP MLAs blame manhandling  by police during protest: Jai Ram Thakur

Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur today blamed the state police for manhandling the BJP MLAs and BJP Senior functionaries during a party protest at Ambedkar Choke in the town on Monday. Mr Thakur raised this issue through a point of order alleging that BJP BLA from Bharmour Dr. Janak Raj got a police lathi lash while he was coming to the state assembly. Mr. Thakur said that the Congress Government cordoned the Assembly complex like a fortress and even the members of the assemblies was not spared while they were coming to the Assembly from the Protest site. BJP member Inder Gandhi said that when he stopped the Police to use Lathicharge on them his phone fell down on the ground. He was misbehaved by a police Jawan who took his mobile phone and it was later switched off. Mr Thakur said that police also did not allow the BJP senior leader to enter the assembly complex.

Replying to the police action on the members, Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri said that it was all tradition that the opposition organized the protests, and the assembly complex was cordoned every time to run the assembly session smoothly. He said that such incidents and skirmishes happened to maintain the law and order and the members should not take the issue personally. He said that members should end the deadlock in the house as it was the last day of the session. Dy CM said that if BJP in charge wanted to come to the assembly complex he should have been given an issue pass in time and police could not be blamed for misbehaving him.

BJP MLA Randhir Sharma also raised the issue of lodging of FIR against party MLA Nachan Vinod Kumar. He said that institutions of MLA are attacked by lodging FIR as Mr Kumar did not misbehave with the SDM and Kanugo and he raised the issue to help the rain-affected assembly constituents to officers.
