Naresh Chauhan accused the BJP of doing petty politics even during the disaster
Principal Media Advisor to the Chief Minister of the state, Naresh Chauhan has accused the BJP of doing petty politics even during the disaster. He has said that BJP should tell whether they made any effort to the Central Government and the Prime Minister to uplift the state from this disaster and provide relief to the people.
Today, while addressing a press conference at the state Congress office Rajiv Bhawan, Naresh Chauhan took the BJP to task and said that he is not worried about the people of the state. He said that earlier the BJP kept demanding to call a special session of the state assembly regarding the disaster and when the government called the assembly session, it did not support the resolution of the state government regarding the disaster in which Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu had asked the central government to stop the disaster. There was a demand for declaring a national disaster and for special financial assistance. He said that it is clear that BJP is neither concerned about the state nor about providing relief to the affected people. He said that all the ministers including the Chief Minister and all the officials of the state government are giving their full cooperation in the relief work. The people of the state are also contributing enthusiastically to the relief fund. He said that this is the first time in history that a Chief Minister has donated all his savings to the relief fund in this hour of disaster, and Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has done this.
Naresh Chauhan said that senior BJP leader Shanta Kumar is also praising the relief work of the Chief Minister. He said that NITI Aayog has also praised the Chief Minister for the relief work in the state. He said that the BJP of the state is on the backfoot and has neither any direction nor condition. He said that the Chief Minister has amended the relief manual to provide relief to the people affected by the disaster and they are being provided full assistance. He said that he had hoped that the head of the Central Government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who calls Himachal Pradesh his second home, would have provided special help to the state. He said that he is sad that the Prime Minister did not say a single word on this disaster.
Naresh Chauhan said that the opposition is scattered due to internal politics. BJP’s performance against the government has been a complete failure.
