President Murmu Addresses 7th Convocation of Central University of Himachal in Dharamshala

The 7th convocation of Central University of Himachal Pradesh in Dharamshala was graced and addressed by the President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, today (May 6, 2024).

In her address, the President emphasized the rapid pace of change in today’s era, marked by the emergence of the 4th Industrial Revolution and the swift evolution of technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. She highlighted the importance of fostering flexible minds among the youth to adapt to these changes and prepare for the challenges of the 21st century.

Addressing educators, she stressed the role of education in nurturing self-reliance, character, and awareness of culture among students, emphasizing that teaching extends beyond academic instruction to shaping the nation’s future.

Encouraging independent learning among students, the President emphasized the significance of not only ‘what to learn’ but also ‘how to learn’, fostering creativity and problem-solving skills.

To the students, the President emphasized the importance of upholding human values in the face of adversity, urging them to embody compassion, conscientiousness, and sensitivity to lead successful and meaningful lives.

She concluded by urging the youth to dedicate themselves to the nation, recognizing their pivotal role in realizing the vision of a developed India, both morally and as citizens.
