HRTC staff member booked for Rs 29 lakh embezzlement
Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Chamba posted former Senior auditor was booked by a state anti-corruption sleuth for embezzlement of Rs 29 lakh depriving HRTC Employees of overtime, salary, arrears, medicinal reimbursement, and other allowances.
A former senior auditor of Chamba HRTC Depo was allegedly not credited overtime allowances, salary arrears, salary, medical reimbursement, gratuity, leave encashment, GPF, TA bill, etc. to the employees of the corporation.
He allegedly found indulged in transactions the money meant for HRTC Employees in the bank account of his family member.
On the complaint of some of the employees, the matter was handed over to the State Vigilance and Anti-corruption Bureau which debunked the illicit proceeds of the accused officers.
On the establishment of the transaction and completing preliminary inquiry SV&ACB Chamba booked the retired Senior Auditor Surendra Kumar under sections 420, 409, 467, 468, 471 of the Indian Penal Code and section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
However, the accused has not been arrested yet. SP Vigilance Balbir Singh said that he will be arrested after the investigation.
He confirmed that in the preliminary inquiry, the allegations were found to be true.
