Zainab Chandel accuses BJP govt of procrastinating on implementing 33 percent women’s reservation

State Women Congress President Zainab Chandel has accused the BJP-led central government of procrastinating on implementing 33 percent women reservation in Parliament and Assembly. She has demanded from the central government that the women’s reservation law should be implemented soon. OBC and backward classes should also be included in it.

Addressing journalists at Rajiv Bhawan here today, Jainab Chandel said that under pressure from Congress and opposition parties, BJP passed the bill to take advantage of the elections in the country at that time, but now no serious efforts are being made to implement it. She demanded that it be implemented in the assembly elections to be held in four states.

Zainab Chandel said that on 29th July, on the call of the All India Mahila Congress, hundreds of women of the State Mahila Congress will participate in a big protest against the Central Government at Jantar Mantar, Delhi. She said that the Mahila Congress would protest demanding reservations for women, rising inflation, and security and rights for women. She said that till women do not get proper representation in Parliament and Vidhan Sabha, there will be no justice for them. She said that the proper participation of women in policy-making is very important.

Zainab Chandel has demanded from the central government to deposit Rs 1 lakh lump sum or Rs 8500 every month in the accounts of poor women under the Mahalakshmi Yojana, so that women can become self-reliant. She said that BJP gives big populist slogans to attract women vote bank during elections and forgets about it after the elections. She said that BJP had promised to give LPG gas cylinder for Rs 500 but today it is silent on this too. Atrocities on women are increasing rapidly in the country. During the rule of BJP, which gave the slogan of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, an attempt was made to bury daughters alive in the ground in Madhya Pradesh, which is very sad. BJP is not giving justice to a woman who is a victim of rape in Maharashtra.

Zainab Chandel said that there is a difference of day and night between BJP’s words and actions. She said that Congress will fight strongly against any injustice of BJP, especially against women officers. She said that this movement of women will continue till they get justice.

Satya Verma, Kamlesh Thakur and Vinny Sharma were also present along with Jenav Chandel in the pace talk.
