Shanta Kumar, former Chief Minister said in a statement that this is not a disaster in Himachal Pradesh, it is a great disaster. Tears came to my eyes after reading the newspaper. The heart was shaken and the soul also started trembling. It was very difficult to see the victims shedding tears after being robbed of everything.
He said that I am happy that the Prime Minister is personally paying attention to this disaster. The state government and the entire public are fighting the disaster unitedly.
He said that I have written a letter to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, urging them to provide maximum assistance from the Central Government.
Shanta Kumar appeals to the brothers and sisters of Himachal with folded hands and request that in this hour of great crisis, every Himachali Chief Minister, leaving aside the victims, donates money to the relief fund and sacrifices himself in this Yagya. Remember, drop by drop, the ocean is filled. Himachal Pradesh has a population of 75 lakhs. Leaving aside the victims and the very poor, if 60 lakh people give an average of Rs. 100/- then Rs. 60 crores are collected in the relief fund. Some can even give thousands and lakhs. Brothers and sisters of Himachal, create a new history of help. With our cooperation, the tears of the victims will be able to be wiped.
He said that I had sent one lakh rupees from my side in the beginning. Today I am sending another check of Rs 50,000 to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
