BJP legislative party huddles before Lok Sabha Polls in Himachal

Opposition BJP 24 MLA huddled here to make strategies for the upcoming Lok Sabha poll in four parliamentary seats in Himachal Pradesh however the leader of the opposition Jai Ram Thakur did not attend the BLP meeting held in Vidhan Sabha complex on Friday.

After the meeting, BJP MLA Randhir Sharma said that during the meeting strategy for the Lok Sabha elections was discussed in detail with the Legislature Party leader and members also virtually linked with district and block working committees.

He said that the party is conducting various programs at the party’s ground level, and a precise strategy was also decided for their successful organization. 

A concrete policy was prepared regarding many such programs like Tridev Sammelan, Micro Donation, Beneficiary Contact, Panna Pramukh Sammelan, and Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot.

He said that Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur had to go to Delhi, so the meeting was chaired by MLA Vipin Singh Parmar. 

He said that a detailed discussion was held on how the Bharatiya Janata Party should organize good programs in all the parliamentary constituencies in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and achieve a big victory with the help of the workers.

Early today BJP leader paraded three Independent MLAs in the assembly who announced joining BJP tomorrow. Before joining the Member of Assembly Hoshiyar Singh, K L Thakur, and Ashish Sharma also turned up before the secretary Vidhan Sabha Yashpal Sharma and also submitted copies of their resignation to Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania from their respective assembly from Dehra, Nalagarh, and Hamirpur to joined BJP. 

Three MLAs didn’t return to their assembly constituency but they took a helicopter flight from Jubberhati airport amid a CRPF security cordon. 

MLAs likely to join BJP along with six disqualified Congress MLA at Delhi BJP office as while interacting with media person before departing from Shimla they announced to join BJP and face mid-bye election along with six Congress disqualified MLAs as election commission has announced by-poll for six assembly seats including Lahaul Spiti, Dharmshala, Sujanpur, Kutlehar Badsar and Gagret. 

However, speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania didn’t accept the resignation of three Independent members who tendered their respective resignations on Friday. 

In the current 68 Assembly Congress party has 34 MLAs, BJP 25, and Independent three. Six Congress MLAs were disqualified by the speaker on February 29 on the complaint of the party for defying party whips.
