There is huge pressure from the BJP on three independent MLAs : Jagat Singh Negi

 Horticulture and Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi has said that there is huge pressure from the BJP on three independent MLAs of the state. Due to this pressure, he has given his resignation letter to the Assembly Speaker. His resignation letter is still pending with the Assembly Speaker. He said that the Speaker of the Assembly has the power to thoroughly investigate anyone’s resignation letter whether it was given voluntarily or under any pressure. He said that the Speaker of the Assembly has full authority to accept or reject it.

While addressing the press conference at the state Congress office Rajiv Bhawan today, Jagat Singh Negi said that the way the BJP government at the Center had given security to the independent MLAs, it is also clear that there is some pressure on them. He said that this is the first case in the history of the country where independent MLAs have resigned and are knocking on the doors of the High Court to get their resignation accepted. He said that since the Assembly Speaker’s decision on these independent MLAs is yet to come, in the meantime these three MLAs have joined the BJP.

Jagat Singh Negi said that he has now challenged this matter before the Assembly Speaker that independent MLAs cannot join any other party, hence they should also be disqualified.

Jagat Singh Negi said that BJP has killed democracy in the state. He said that six rebel leaders of Congress will now be known as tainted. He said that the membership of these MLAs has been terminated as per the law and he is to blame for this. He said that how the BJP has tried to destabilize the Congress government with a full majority has now been fully exposed.

Meanwhile, Shimla Urban MLA Harish Janartha said that he has filed a petition in the State High Court in which he has requested that these independent MLAs should also be heard before giving any decision on their petition. He said that the pressure under which these independent MLAs have tendered their resignation, he wants to present it before the court with complete facts.

Janartha said that the BJP has tried to destabilize the Congress government of the state as part of a well-planned strategy. He said that the attempt made by BJP to kill democracy by insulting public opinion in the state is highly condemnable. He said that Congress will fully expose the conspiracy of BJP in these elections.

Jagat Singh Negi said that BJP is completely discouraged by Congress’s six justices and 25 guarantees. He said that BJP is in panic due to Congress’s manifesto. He said that Congress never said that the government will capture people’s lands in the country. He said that the promise made by Congress to give land to the landless is from government land. He said that there is a Land Ceiling Act in the country and on this basis, if someone has more land than the prescribed limit, then the government acquires it.

Negi also strongly countered BJP’s allegation that it is selling mangalsutra of women and said that BJP has been doing this work. He said that incidents like Manipur are a direct proof of this, where the marriages of hundreds of women were ruined.

Negi said that BJP does not talk on issues. There are many issues in the country like rising inflation, unemployment, women safety and external security of the country. The Congress government of the state has completed its 5 guarantees, of which the main ones are OPS and guarantee of Rs 1500 to women.

Negi said that during the disaster, Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not approach the state even once. He said that he did not fulfill the promise he had made to the people of the state, especially the gardeners, during the Lok Sabha elections. He said that the import of apples in the country has caused a huge blow to the apple growers of the state. He said that the Congress government of the state is completely committed to the interests of apple growers and farmers.
