State shows concerns over increasing cybercrime & misuse technological innovation

Himachal Pradesh Government expressed concern over increasing incidences of cybercrime in the state and misuse of technological innovation for blackmailing, reproducing the obscene video.This was stated by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur who also holds the portfolio of the Home while giving a suomotto statement on a call attention brought by Inder Dutt Lakhanpal after the question hour in the Assembly on Friday. The Chief Minister said that the State Cyber Crime Cell was constituted to probe such kind, however the victim have to submit written or online complaints in such matter.Mr. Thakur said that as far the matter of Hamirpur Cyber Crime is concerned it would be probed by the Cyber Cell and the culprit would be brought to book soon.Mr. Thakur cautioned the people to remain vigilant of such incidents and use the new information technology

judiciously.Earlier raising the issue Inder Dutt Lakhanpal drew the attention of the house toward an incident 

as the accused in lieu of fake obscene video was blackmailing the victim to pay the money .

Member said that the victim alleged that the accused misused his photograph to fabricate the alleged incident.

The Chief Minister also apprised the house about fining of Kangra resident by Dubai court, stating that the Chief Secretary has written a letter to the Indian High Commission at Dubai to resolve the issue and help the victim as his family in home are in deep trouble after the earning member of a family is in hapless situation.The Chief Minister assured the member that the state and Centre Government is committed to the well being of Indian residing abroad and also act in the matter further if required.

Assembly from Nagrota Bagwan drew the attention of the House that a JCB operator Vijay Kumar was in deep trouble in Saudi Arabia after the death of a person in a road accident.

Vijay Kumar was prosecuted by a Dubai Court with a heavy fine of around Rs 31 lakhs, which he cannot pay.

The member said the victim is trying to seek assistance from the India High Commissioner Dubai but he could not avail it so far.

The member demanded the government to reach out to the victim so that his family for which he is lone source earning could be released.
