Government delaying replies of queries for months : Congress

The opposition Congress blamed the ruling BJP for delaying reply of simple queries being asked by its members in the question hours during the monsoon session. This was stated in the state assembly by the leader of opposition Mukesh Agnihotri here today. Mr Agnihotri wanted to know how many departments, boards, corporations and commissions were provided with new vehicles and the amount spent on them. Members also wanted to know the type of model, fleet strength and about the purchase of bullet proof vehicles.  Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur stated that the government was collecting information.This agitated Agnihotri who blamed the government for delaying the reply of query for months and stated that this query was pending for reply since previous sessions. Mr.  Agnihotri said that the speaker should protect the opposition which is in the minority in the house instead of interrupting him from raising issues on the injustice being met against them Opposition expect the speaker to snub the treasury benches to come up with the reply on their query as the house is in the session. Accusing the chair for not protecting them he said that during the debate of motion of no confidence motion yesterday the speaker also reduced time allotted to them in the motion. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that members should not press  on the issue too much as the queries being asked by the members are bulky pertaining to the number of state agencies, needing time. The Speaker Vipin Singh Parmar stated that instead of raising the finger towards chair, opposition should mend its way .He said that during the protest yesterday behavior of some of the opposition members during the debate on no-confidence motion and outside the house was not responsible enough on the expected line. Referring to Congress MLA Jagat Singh Negi in the house, the Speaker pointed out that during the milieu in the house on Thursday members referred to him (speaker)  ‘Nikama'( idle), and could not expect  Mr Negi ( who was deputy speaker previously) from such a senior member. A Congress member also heard accusing a BJP member terming Congress member Bakwas (nonsense) but it was not expunged by the speaker from the record.  The state assembly is in a four days monsoon session before the state goes to the state assembly pool expected in November this year.
