Shimla, Kullu & Manali cut off from the mainstream
Shimla, Kullu, and Manali in Manali were cut off from the mainstream of life after disrupting roads at a number of places and on alternate roads.
The report arrived from Kullu and Manali said that vehicular traffic was closed via Chailchoke and Kandivali- Kamand road since last night due to landslides. It is worthwhile to mention that NH-3 has been blocked near Pandoh for the last month and vehicular traffic was diverted via Gohar-chailchoke-sundernagar and Kandivali to Kamand.
Tourist resorts Manali and Shimla are hit by unprecedented rainfall time and again and it is not possible to visit both towns without traveling hundreds of kilometres through rural alternate roads. But since last night landslides and caving in of roads at alternate roads left people cut off from normal life again.
Old Hindustan Highway opened for vehicular traffic last week at Chakimod was again disrupted for vehicular traffic on Wednesday morning.
The vehicular traffic was diverted via the Nahan-Kummarhati and Nalagarh-Totu roads to Shimla and remained off due to uncertainty on the alternative roads.
In Shimla town vehicular traffic was also closed on Bypass road and on Wednesday flash floods hit some vehicles and flood waters entered in Rajivir Auto workshops.
Most of the roads are closed in the Shimla district. District Administration said that Mehli-Shanan, Kasumpti-Panthaghati, Victory tunnel-Sanjauli-Open, Oakover-Rajbhawan-Navbahar, Auckland- Lower Bharari and IGMC-Sanjauli roads are open and Kennedy-Annadale is -Open for LMV only.
In Shimla town Tutikandi-Phagli-Khalini roads are blocked at Kalnog and Khalini bifurcation, Victory tunnel-Kaithu, Bioleuganj-Summerhill, Navbhar-Jakhoo, Kasumpti+Perimahal, Vikasnagar-SDA-Kasumpti, Kalnog-CPRI-Bemloe and Tallland to Bemloe road and Sunni-Rampur, Gumma-Baghi, Tikkar-Nankhari and Nankhari-Nirath roads are closed.
In Solan district Chambaghat to Mansar ( NH – 5 ), Solan to Subathu Chamabaghat to Kandaghat via Basal, Kandaghat to Chail Kandaghat to Kawarag Kandaghat to Dharot Via Basal Waknaghat to Mamlig Sadhupul to Basha., Dharmpur to Subathu Chakki Mod to Bhojnagar Mallah to Bhojnagar road are block.
