Noted Journalist seeks a remedy in a libel matter from Himachal High Court

Media Tycoon Raj Kamal Jah of Indian Express has sought a remedy in a strange litigation or libel matter from Himachal Pradesh High Court.

The matter was listed for hearing before a single-judge bench of Justice Virender Singh in Himachal Pradesh High Court on Friday.

The high-profile respondent seek more time to file the reply on the petition and the court adjourned the hearing till August 18, 2023, passing a paged order today.

Earlier counsel for the respondent has sought time to file a reply on the. A paged order passed by Justice Virender Singh today asked the respondent to be filed on or before the next date of hearing and listed the matter On August 18, 2023. Till then, the interim stay order is to be continued.

The petitioner has succeeded to have respite in the defamation case on May 19, 2023, as Single judge bench of Justice Jyotsna Rewal Dua as HC stayed an impugned order of a court of sub judge Shimla dated 01.08.2022 and 15.03.2023  against the petitioners.

We know that Raj Kamal Jah Editor of Indian Express newspapers was reported suo by a high-profile respondent who is a functionary of the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission.

In one of the strange cases in the history of Indian Journalism and the Indian judiciary, the petitioners were impleaded accused of a story that the newspaper never published.
