Ministry of Tourism GoI organized a workshop on the Incredible India Bed & Breakfast Homestay Scheme at Shimla
The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India (Northern Region), organized a significant workshop on the Incredible India Bed & Breakfast/ Homestay Scheme at Hotel Holiday Home HPTDC, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh on 21st December 2023.
Esteemed speakers, including Dr. RK Suman, Regional Director (North), Ministry of Tourism, Govt. Of India, Mr. Mukul Dimri, Principal, Institute of Hotel Management, Mr. Varun Sharma, Vice President, The Bajaj Group, Mr. Narender Bhardwaj, chapter chairman, Indian Association of Tour Operators, Mr. Vikram Singh, Tourist Information Officer, Himachal Tourism, Shimla, Mr. Awanish Mishra, Tourist Information Officer, India Tourism Delhi, and Ms. Aanchal, Faculty of IHM Shimla, addressed the audience, providing valuable insights.*
Dr R K Suman, Regional Director (North) shared guidelines and information on the Incredible India Bed & Breakfast/ Homestay Scheme, NIDHI+ portal, and various aspects of Bed and Breakfast and Homestay. Mr. Awanish Mishra presented a detailed overview of the NIDHI+ registration process for Bed & Breakfast. Approximately 90 Bed & Breakfast/ Homestay owners and tourism stakeholders participated in the workshop.
Mr. Mukul Dimri emphasized the concept of Homestays in India. The event delved into sustainable and eco-friendly initiatives, with Mr. Varun Sharma and Ms. Aanchal discussing their significance. The Ministry of Tourism’s initiative, Travel for Life, was showcased, and all participants pledged their commitment. The announcement of the Tourism for Tourism Case Study Competition and Best Rural Homestay Competition added enthusiasm and engagement.
Mr. Sanjay Sachan, TIO, India Tourism Delhi expressed gratitude in the Vote of Thanks, marking the workshop’s success in fostering a vibrant tourism ecosystem in the Northern Region.
