No probe against five faculty member of SPU in reference of PMO: CM

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stated in the state assembly that no probe is being received in the Vigilance Department from the Prime Minister’s Office(PMO) regarding affairs of Sardar Patel University about the appointment of five faculty members in the university. Replying to a starred question raised by Congress member Chander Shekhar (Dharampur) Chief Minister said in a written query that a  copy of complaint received by the sate vigilance and anticorruption Bureau on October, 17, 2022 from a Vipin Guleria S/o Sh. RS Guleria also addressed to the Prime Minister. The complaint been sent to the Ex Officio Vigilance Officer, Higher Education for taking further necessary action. Mr Thakur said that higher education department has informed that the reply from the Sardar Patel University was received and the complainant has been called for hearing. Replying to another regarding the majority of faculty members are or were associated with Him Science Congress Association and have been either Student or faculty members of Shoolini University and Founding President of Him Science Congress Association also associated with the selection or scrutiny process of teachers. The Chief Minister said that as per University record  five (05) faculty members have submitted with their application forms during the process of recruitment, various certificates issued by the Him Science Congress Association, with its registered office at Shoolini University, Solan(HP). Out  of 26 faculty members of SPU University, 04 had been faculty of Shoolini University and one of them has done Ph.D from Shoolini University. The President of the Him Science Congress Association was a Professor at SPU with effect from  1st October, 2020 up to 30-09- 2022 and was holding the additional charge of Dean of Academic Affairs. He acted as Convenor for the screening or scrutiny committee of applications for different posts of Teachers. He also acted as Chairman for the selection of Faculty on secondment basis, chief minister added.
