De-addiction center should be opened at some other place instead of Junga Hospital: Dr Tanwar

It is proposed to open a de-addiction centre in Civil Hospital Junga courtesy of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, for which the process has already begun. According to sources, on 29 July, a team of senior officers of the department will inspect the location and arrangements of this proposed de-addiction centre. It will have 16 beds, a library and other facilities for the treatment of people suffering from addiction.
State President of Kisan Sabha, Dr. Kuldeep Tanwar has welcomed the approval of the de-addiction centre for Junga. He has requested the government to open this centre at some other place in Junga instead of the civil hospital. Dr. Tanwar says that at present this hospital has 25 beds. In the near future, the state government is going to upgrade this hospital to an ideal health institution, which will have a team of specialist doctors and a provision of 50 to 100 beds.
Dr. Tanwar also says that if a de-addiction centre is opened on one floor of this hospital, it may cause problems to the patients coming to the hospital. The floor of the hospital where the de-addiction centre is proposed to be opened currently has a general ward and an operation theatre.
Dr. Tanwar says that at present there is no specialist doctor in this hospital. It has been given the status of a civil hospital but the facilities are still like those of a CHC. It should be noted that in the Kasupanti constituency, except CHC Mashobra, no health institution has the National Ambulance 108 service, due to which the people of the Junga area are not able to avail the benefits of this service.
Pradhan of Junga Panchayat, Basni Lal Kashyap said that he will soon meet the Secretary of the Health Department regarding this problem and a proposal will be given on behalf of the Panchayat to open the centre at any other place in Junga.
District Welfare Officer Shimla KR Chauhan said that it is proposed to open a de-addiction centre in Civil Hospital Junga soon for which all the formalities are being completed.
