Jagat Singh Negi held a meeting with the Village Revenue Officer and the Kanungo Joint Association
In a meeting with the Village Revenue Officer (Patwari) and Kanungo Joint Association here today, Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi said that revenue officers play an important role in providing revenue-related services to the people besides assessing losses during the disaster or any such mishaps.
The role of officers and employees of this cadre during the recent natural calamity is commendable, he said. The state government is determined to provide the best facilities to the Patwari and Kanungo and is well aware of their problems and concrete steps were being taken for resolving their demands.
The Revenue Minister said that a committee had been constituted under the chairmanship of the Director, Land Records to discuss various issues related to Patwaris and Kanungos and it regularly conducts meetings with the Association. He said that HRMS software had been developed in collaboration with the Department of Digital Technologies and Governance to submit the annual confidential report online which will not only make their ACR available on time but will also speed up the promotion process, he remarked.
The Revenue Minister said that the state government has recently given approval to fill the vacant posts of Patwaris and was taking every possible step to protect the interests of the officers and employees of this cadre.
Principal Secretary, of Revenue Onkar Chand Sharma said that the department was well aware of the demands and needs of the Kanungo/Patwaris and efforts were made to ensure their welfare.
Joint Secretary, Anirudh Chauhan conducted the proceedings of the meeting.
Senior Officers of the Revenue and Land Records Department, state and district-level officers, and representatives of the Association were present in the meeting.
