IMD issues weather advisory rainfall or thunder storm in North India from March 29 to 31
Himachal Pradesh likely to have fresh spell of rain and thunderstorms from Wednesday onwards as Indian Meteorological Department issued weather Advisory and announced Western disturbance activities this week again. In Weather bulletin issued here today IMD stated that a fresh spell of rainfall or thunderstorm would likely begin from the night of March, 29, 2023. A Western Disturbance lies as a cyclonic circulation over tropospheric levels likely to create a fresh spell of activity very likely over the region likely over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, from March 29 to 31st. In the state hailstorm and thunder storm likely to occur at some places in the Himachal Pradesh on March 30 and 31st. No significant change in Maximum Temperatures very likely during next 5 days. The Minimum temperature likely come down in the state.
State disaster Management authority also issued separate press Advisory about winds & Hailstorm over the state on March 30 &31 st along with Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh. It further said that after impact of rough weather or strong wind and hail may damage plantation, horticulture and standing crops. Hail may injure people and cattle at open places. Partial damage to vulnerable structures due to strong winds and Minor damage to kutcha houses or walls and huts. SDMA suggested People to stay indoors, close windows & doors and avoid travel if possible. It also said that one should take safe shelters; do not take shelter under trees. Do not lie on concrete floors and do not lean against concrete walls. Unplug electrical or electronic appliances. Immediately get out of water bodies and Keep away from all the objects that conduct electricity. Issuing separate advisory for farmers SDMA asked them to postpone and resume harvesting of matured crops in Jammu, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan during clear weather. Drain out excess water from crop fields. Provide mechanical support to horticultural crops and staking to vegetables. Minimum temperature continue to below normal in the state as Shimla 6 degrees, Bhuntar Airport 4.8 degrees, Kalpa 0.2 degrees, Dharamshala and Una 10 each – Nahan (Sirmour) 13.8 Keylong (Lahaul-Spiti) minus 4.5 degrees, Solan 6.7, Manali 2.2, Kangra 9.5, Mandi 8.6, Bilaspur 11, Hamirpur 8.7, Chamba 8.8, Dalhousie 7, Airport Jubberhatti 8.3, Tourist resort Kufri 4.4 & Narakanda 2.4 . Forecast of light rain and thunder showers also made for next 24hrs in the state isolated places.
