Hard work is the Key to Success: Governor Shukla

Along with education, sports activities are equally essential for the overall development of students. Education gives knowledge and also paves the way to move forward, whereas sports inculcate a sense of discipline in life. Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla stated this while presiding over a program “Shimla Ke Medhavi” organized by a prestigious vernacular daily, here today.

On the occasion, the Governor emphasized the importance of NCC and NSS activities in educational institutions. Speaking on environmental protection, the Governor said that plantation drives should be made an integral part of every program and a person should be entrusted with the responsibility of taking care of the plantations.

The Governor distributed prizes and congratulated the award winner students of 10th, 11th and 12th class of Shimla district. Congratulating the Media Group for organizing the event, Shiv Pratap Shukla said that the prizes also inspire to move ahead in life with the goal of nation-building. He added that extraordinary success can be achieved in life with hard work, determination and learning. The governor said that every student is talented and has abilities, and it is the responsibility of parents and teachers to make continuous efforts at all levels for their all-round development.

Education Minister Rohit Thakur was also present at the occasion and stated that the present state government is taking many innovative steps in the field of education. He said that providing qualitative education is utmost priority of the state government and new technology along with innovation-based subjects are being included in various courses by the state government. He congratulated the award winners and wished them success for future.

Mayor, Municipal Corporation, Shimla, Surender Chauhan called upon the students to actively participate in the cleanliness and plantation drives.

Principal, Government Senior Secondary School Chhota Shimla, Meera Sharma, Directors of Vidyapeeth Institute Ravinder Awasthi and Dr. Ramesh Sharma and other dignitaries were present at the occasion.
