Government should get a special Girdawari done to take stock of the loss – Dr. Tanwar

State President of Himachal Kisan Sabha, Dr. Kuldeep Tanwar, in a statement issued on Tuesday, has demanded the government to get a special Girdawari done so that the damage caused by heavy rains can be properly assessed. He told that the correct report of damage from Gram Panchayats and other field agencies is not being given to the administration, due to which many people will be deprived of help from the government. He said that only four cases of damage due to heavy rains in the Junga area have come to the attention of the local administration whereas in reality there are many more.
Dr. Tanwar told that a technical team should be sent to the field to assess the damage. The assessment of loss being taken by Patwari is not accurate. Only civil engineers or technical assistants posted in panchayats can assess the damage correctly.
On the other hand, Kisan Sabha Kasumpti Atiya Committee President Gulab Chandel and Secretary Jai Shiv Thakur have demanded the government compensate the affected families for the damage caused by heavy rains and landslides in the Kasupnti constituency. He has demanded Panchayat Minister Anirudh Singh take immediate action and restore public services, especially roads, electricity and water supply, etc. at the earliest. Fruits, flowers, and vegetables are getting wasted in the fields due to the difficulties being faced by the farmers in taking their finished crops to the market due to the blockade of roads.
