Disqualified MLA Rajinder Rana resigns from HPCC
Disqualified MLA from Sujanpur assembly constituency of Congress today tenders resignation from the post of working President of Himachal Pradesh Congress committee.
Forwarding copy of resignation issued by Mr. Rajinder Rana to Congress president Malikarjun Khadge AICC general secretary V C Venugopal, state Congress in-charge Rajiv Shukla, and HPCC president Pratibha Singh Mr. Rana said that he resigned from the post of working President of HPCC with immediate effect today.
It is worthwhile to mention that swards of suspension from the HPCC were hanging on Mr. Rana as he was one of six Congress members who crossed over in the Rajyasabha poll on February 27, 2024. Mr Sudhir Sharma was terminated from the post of secretary of AICC today by Congress president Malikarjun Khadge.
The six MLAs who are continue holed up in a five-star luxury hotel in Punchkula and extended security by the CRPF and Haryana police after they cross-vote in favor of BJP candidate Harash Mahajan on February 27. Other disqualified MLAs include Ravi Thakur of Lahaul Spiti, Inderdut Lakhanpal of Badsar, Devinder Bhutto from Kutlehar, and Chetyana Sharma from Gagret.
Congress Party has taken strong millinery action against the six dissidents and disqualified MLAs after the legislative party moved a disqualification petition before them on February 28 and later took a firm decision to not take back them in the state unit provided it may cost the state government in Himachal Pradesh.
Public Works Department Minister Vikramaditya Singh and his mother Pratibha Singh are showing a soft corner to the disqualified MLAs and seeking the party to include them in the state unit but AICC stated clearly to both the leaders that the cross-voting and defying of party whip in the state budget session of state government is couldn’t be ignored by the AICC.
During the various meetings held between the AICC and the duo of the son and mother party have conveyed to them that there is no place for such indisciplined party leaders which is an embarrassing party already on the receiving end in the country.
