Toll and Luxury bus charges become dearer in Himachal
With the closing down of the annual off-season discount of ten percent the Bus fares increased by ten percent in all luxury services in Himachal Pradesh moreover, the toll charges by the NHAI would also be increased from five to ten rupees with effect from today.
According to Himachal Road Transport Corporation Kangra & Chamba DM Mr. Pankaj Chadda stated that the hike in the luxury bus service is being enforced due to the closing down of the annual off-season discount from 1st April to September 30 this year.
Every year state Transport offers an annual discount on all the luxury buses in the tourist off-season from October 1 to March 31 due to lean season. It has made the services of all high-end buses for passengers dearers from today onwards.
The corporation had withdrawn the 10 percent fare discount to passengers going to other states including Delhi, Chandigarh, and Amritsar in AC Volvo buses till September 30.
With the hike in the toll charges by Rs five from today all vehicles registered within the 20-kilometer area would also have to pay Rs 340 toll charges. The National Highway Authority has issued a notification for NH-5.
For cars, jeeps, vans, and Light motor vehicles one-way fare would be Rs 70 and two-way fare would be Rs 105.
For light commercial vehicles, the one-way fare to be Rs 115 the two-way fare will be Rs 170, and for heavy vehicles toll be Rs 455 and Rs 685.
The increase in the toll also affected from noon of the previous night at the Sanwara toll in Solan district on NH-5.
This time the fees for cars, jeeps, vans, and light motor vehicles have not increased.
