Degree College Chail Koti will get its own building in the next three months
Finally, after a long gap of nine years, the construction work of the new building of Government Degree College, Chail Koti has reached the final stage. The Public Works Department has set a target to complete this building in the next three months. So far, an amount of Rs 13 crore has been spent on the construction of this building and this amount will reach Rs 16 crore by the time the construction of the building is completed. Which has been confirmed by Assistant Engineer PWD Junga Devesh Thakur. He said that the construction work of the new building of Degree College is being done on a war footing and will be completed in the next three months so that the children can get an education in a good environment.
The Assistant Engineer said that in the new building of the college, apart from the administrative building, science block, arts block, library, computer lab, and other facilities will be available. Let us tell you that the foundation stone of this building was laid by former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on May 17, 2015. After this, when the BJP government came to power in the state in the year 2017, the construction work of this building remained in limbo. Let us tell you that in the year 2014, Degree College Chail Koti was started in the old building of the primary school. In a long span of 9 years, eight batches of Arts faculty from this college have studied in this primary school. The most important thing is that with the construction of the new building, the facility to study science subjects will be available to the children of 12 panchayats of the Junga area for the first time. Whereas children from this area have to go to Shimla or Solan to study science subjects.
