Selling of Farmers’ water to Hotels, Kisan Sabha met the chief engineer
The delegation of four panchayats of Kasumpti area under the leadership of State President of Himachal Kisan Sabha Dr. Kuldeep Singh Tanwar, Chief Engineer of Jal Shakti Department (IPH) Anju Sharma, regarding the problem of water and apprised her of the drinking water problem. Chief Engineer JSV said that in Naldehra Panchayat, a case of selling water from water sources to private hotels has come to her knowledge, due to which Farmers are facing shortage of drinking water. Dr. Tanwar said that it is a matter of great sadness that there is no concrete and concrete information at the level of the department about the Himachal Pradesh Ground Water Act-2005, how it is to be implemented. From the point of view of tourism at the government level, big hotels and resorts have been opened around Shimla, but solid water arrangements have not been made for them, due to which the hotel owners manage NOC from the panchayats, but the water comes only from the sources of the local people. He said that Panchayat by rack less distribution of NOC forcing villages to face water scarcity.The department held a detailed and concrete meeting with the delegation of Kisan Sabha along with the concerned officers and assured to resolve most of the issues within fifteen days.
