BJP does not have any issue in elections therefore resorting to personal attacks: Sanjay Awasthi

 State Congress Working President and Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sanjay Awasthi have said that BJP leaders do not have any issue with the elections in the state, hence now they have resorted to personal attacks. Congress will go to the public with the achievements of its 15-month tenure and will hoist the flag of victory in all four Lok Sabha seats as well as six assembly by-elections.
Sanjay Awasthi said here today that the government is completely strong under the able leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and will emerge even stronger after the election results. He said that the Congress government of the state has fulfilled five out of its ten guarantees. It also includes the restoration of old pensions of key employees and Pyari Behna Samman Nidhi of Rs 1500 per month to women. He said that the BJP did not like the honorarium given to women and it has stopped it.
Awasthi has said that the way the disaster affected people was helped in the state under the leadership of State Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, it has been appreciated at the national level as well. He said that BJP leaders in the state neither helped the affected people nor provided any support to the government during the disaster. He said that the BJP demanded a special session of the Assembly regarding the disaster and when the government called a special session of the Assembly, in that too the BJP demanded the Central Government to declare this disaster a national disaster and to deal with this disaster to the state government. He did not even support the proposal for special financial assistance. He said that this was the reason that the Central Government did not provide any special financial assistance to the state to deal with the disaster.
Awasthi said that State Congress President and MP Pratibha Singh had personally written a letter to all the BJP MPs of the state urging them to meet the Prime Minister and release an economic package to deal with the disaster, but it is regrettable that these BJP MPs He did not show any interest in it. He said that Congress President Pratibha Singh alone met the Prime Minister and informed him about the huge loss caused by the disaster in the state and sought special financial help from him. He said that despite his assurance, the state did not receive any special help from the Central Government.
Awasthi said that Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, despite the deteriorating financial condition of the state, which he inherited from the BJP, provided full help to the affected people by setting up a relief fund of Rs 4500 crore. Relief manual extended. Where earlier only Rs 1 lakh was given in case of house collapse due to natural calamity, it has been increased to Rs 7 lakh. He said that the Congress government of the state is dedicated to the public interest and the development of the state is its priority.
Sanjay Awasthi accused the BJP that their attempt to destabilize the Sukhu government of the state as part of a conspiracy is highly condemnable. He said that the people of the state will never forgive him and BJP will have to face defeat in these by-elections.
