BJP exerts pressure to stop regularization of contract employees: Anurag Sharma

Himachal Pradesh Congress Seva Dal Chief Anurag Sharma has said that the Election Commission has stopped the regularization of contract and daily wage employees under pressure from the BJP. He said that regularizing the employees is a routine process for which the state government had sought permission from the Election Commission, but due to pressure from the BJP, the Election Commission has stopped the file. Whereas earlier too, regularization of employees has been allowed during elections. He said that by creating pressure, BJP has deprived the contract and daily wage workers of their rights.

Anurag Sharma said that the BJP has been anti-employee from the beginning. Therefore, the BJP government refused to give old pensions to government employees, whereas the present state government restored OPS for the employees in the very first cabinet meeting. He said that the same BJP is continuously creating hurdles in the process of providing a pension of Rs 1500 to women. By putting pressure on the Election Commission, BJP leaders are trying to stop the scheme of giving a pension of Rs 1500. He said that fulfilling its election promise, the state government has started Indira Gandhi Pyari Brahmin Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana for eligible girls and women above 18 years of age, under which each eligible person is being provided Rs 1500 per month. The work of filling out forms under the scheme has been started and women have started getting its benefits. He said that the state government has made a provision of Rs 800 crore budget for this scheme, but BJP is not able to tolerate the pension being given to women.

Chief of Himachal Pradesh Congress Seva Dal said that the present state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has increased the monthly social security pension of Rs 1000 or Rs 1150 to Rs 1500 for 2.42 lakh women of the state and they will be given this amount. The meeting has also started. Anurag Sharma said that the anti-Himachal face of BJP is coming in front of the people of the state and it will have to pay the price of these anti-people actions in the elections.
