Industries deptt to prepare Strategic Investment Plan for meeting objectives of RAMP
Expressing gratitude for the vision of Chief Minister, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, in transforming Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector of the state, Industries Minister, Harshwardhan Chauhan said that the stage was set for the initiation of the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) programme, a flagship scheme of the Government of India, supported by the World Bank and the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MoMSME).
On the direction of Industries Minister, Harshwardhan Chauhan, Ernst and Young LLP Company was engaged through bidding process for preparation of the Strategic Investment Plan (SIP). He said that the agency has started the task of preparation of SIP and is also assisting in Cluster Development Programme in the state. The agency conducted interactions with industry stakeholders in the Sirmour district at Kala Amb and Paonta Sahib.
The insights gathered from these interactions will play a pivotal role in shaping the SIP tailored to meet the specific needs and objectives of the RAMP programme in Himachal Pradesh. Once approved, the SIP will pave the way for significant advancements in the competitiveness of MSMEs through enhanced access to finance, markets, technology, capacity building, and other essential support. The SIP will be implemented in the state over the next four years actively through the state MSMEs and Industry Associations.
The consulting agency is to conduct a series of further interactions, workshops, and focused group discussions across different districts in the coming weeks to capture industry needs and share awareness of the RAMP scheme and Cluster Development Programme.
The Director of Industries Rakesh Kumar Prajapati also urged MSMEs and Industry Associations to actively attend these interactions and share their requirements and concerns related to access to the market, access to credit, technology, and greening of MSMEs.
These interactions were attended by President, Himachal Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Satish Kumar Goel and General Secretary Naveen Aggarwal, President of Pharma Association, Kala Amb Keshav Saini and other prominent members and office bearers of the industry associations
