Yellow Alert: Shimla Admin extends School vacation 

 Shimla district administration extended the vacation in all educational institutions till August 25 following yellow alert of heavy to very heavy rainfall issued by IMD  for the next 24 hours in the district.

Deputy Commissioner Shimla Aditya Negi said that due to the danger of many more landslides on the roads, it is not safe to open educational institutions.

DC issued a notification here today that roads are blocked despite efforts by the concerned departments to clear landslides in the district.  

He said that in prevailing circumstances, the movement of staff, students, trainees, etc. may not be safe & therefore needs to be restricted for their safety. 

 He said that all the Government, Private educational institutions / Universities / Colleges, Schools, and Vocational training centers in Anganwari shall remain closed on  August 25 2023.
