Shimla Mayor and councillors donate honorarium towards Aapada Rahat Kosh

Mayor of Shimla Municipal Corporation Surender Chauhan, Deputy Mayor Uma Kaushal along with other Councillors called on the Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu here today. The Mayor and Deputy Mayor donated their one month honorarium towards ‘Aapada Rahat Kosh-2023’ keeping in view massive losses due to torrential rains in the State.

The Mayor apprised the Chief Minister that many councillors from MC Shimla have also volunteered to contribute towards Aapada Rahat Kosh.

Councillor from Kangnadhar ward R.R. Verma also presented a cheque of Rs. 6 lakh towards Aapada Rahat Kosh to the Chief Minister as an honorarium of his five years tenure as a councillor.

Councillors Geetajali Bhagra, Alok Pathania and Krishan Ram also contributed Rs. 2 lakh, Rs. 7,000 and Rs. 5100 respectively towards Aapada Rahat Kosh.

Expressing his gratitude towards the contributors, the Chief Minister thanked them for the noble gesture and said that it would go a long way in mitigating the sufferings of the disaster affected families.
