Revised e-auction system of fancy registration numbers reinitiated, 30 percent security to be deposited as advance

Director Transport, Anupam Kashyap here today said that the department has restarted a revised e-auction process to issue fancy registration numbers for vehicles from 16th May 2023.

He said that Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri had earlier directed the department to revise the e-auction system for making it more secure to avoid fake applications.

He informed that the revised system will be started in Baijnath and Shimla Registration Transport Authorities (RTA) in the first phase. The revised system will be initiated by the respective RTAs throughout the state after successful testing.

 Anupam Kashyap said that interested applicants could apply for fancy registration numbers from Monday to Saturday on the e-auction system. Rs. 2000 is required to be deposited as a registration fee. Results of registration numbers through the e-auction system would be declared automatically after 5 PM on Sunday.

He said that the 30 percent security amount of the minimum registration fee needs to be depicted in advance after a successful registration.  This amount will be nonrefundable in case of inability of the applicant to get the registration number. The concerned fancy number will be available for e-auction again.
