Rain and snow lashes many parts of Himachal
The Normal life remained derailed in Himachal Pradesh since last three days due to widespread moderate to heavy rainfall and snowfall. The Mercury plummet two to three degrees below normal, and state is in the grip of cold wave conditions.
Nohradhar in Sirmour district had 2.5 ft snowfall, The Gateway of Lahaul-Spiti district 13050 ft Rohtang pass 12.5 cm, Jalorijot paas of Kullu ten cm, Attal Tunnel South Portal three cm, last bordering village of Kinnuar district, Chhitkul 2.5 cm, Khadrala in Shimla 2.8cm and Tourist resort Kufri one cm. Light to moderate snowfall also occurred on the high reaches of Shimla, Kinnaur and Kullu district.
In past 24 hrs Renuka(Sirmaur) and Solan had-42 mm rain each, Kandaghat 40 mm, Pachhad (Sirmaur)38 mm, Nahan-37 mm Dharmshala & Jubbal(Shimla)
32 mm each, Dharampur(Solan,)-31mm Sangrah (Sirmaur) 29 mm, Shimla, Sarahan & Rajgarh 26 mmeach, Tourist resort Dalhousie-25 mm, Airport Jubbar Hatti-24 mm Gaggal (Kangra) 23 mm, Palampur 20 mm.
Minimum temperature of Shimla was 5.5 degrees and three degrees below normal, Bhuntar Airport 10, Kalpa(Kinnaur) 2.8, Dharamshala 11.2, Una 12.4, Nahan (Sirmour) 12.7, Keylong (Lahaul-Spiti) 0.4 Solan 8.2, Manali 5, Kangra 12.7, Mandi 12.1 -Bilaspur and Hamirpur 14, Chamba 12.6, Dalhousie 5.3, Jubberhatti 8.7, Kufri 2.8 and Narakanda 1.8 degrees.
It was snowing in the South Portal of Atal Tunnel Rohtang in Lahaul Spit since this afternoon therefore district administration advised local and tourists to leave for safe place as soon as possible and avoid unnecessary travel in bad weather, travel only in case of emergency.
Earlier today Administration also issued traffic Advisory stating that due to snowfall in the district, the following roads are blocked and movements of all types of vehicles on these routes are restricted till further orders. BRO shall investigate and start the clearance of the road as weather improves. Vehicular movement shall only be permitted after clearance from BRO.
In the Morning Manali-Leh NH – 03 was opened for traffic from North Portal to Darcha but Baralacha pass was closed. NH-3 from Darcha – Shinkula- Zanskar, NH – 505 Koksar to Losar and SH – 26 Tindi to Kadhu Nullah were Closed.
On Saturday Weather was partly cloudy till noon but thundershowers lashed many places in the day. Visibility reduce drastically and affected vehicular traffic in many places of the state. Power Supply was affected in many places of Rajgarh and Nahan of Sirmour district and vehicular traffic hampered by rolling down of boulders and landslides in Solan, Shimla and Sirmour district since last three days.
Met Office forecast arrival of another Western disturbance with effect from tomorrow onwards. State likely not have major changes in the inclement weather conditions for next four days.
