Property and goods destroyed in a fire in Parwanoo, 4 injured 

At least six two-wheelers parked in a building were reduced to ashes in a devastating fire that broke out in a private house at Ambota villages under Parwanoo police station in this district, last night. 

 The preliminary investigation by police revealed that the incident took place at around 2.30 am on Sunday following a sound of an explosion l.  Solan SP Gaurav Singh said that shortly after the incident took place, the local people reached the spot and got the building vacated immediately.  Three bikes and 3 Activa scooty were standing inside the building during the mishap.   electric meters were also burnt in the fire.

Occupants of the building were awakened by the sound of the explosion and the building was immediately evacuated.  The fire was controlled with the help of a water tanker standing near the building.  Most of the people in the three-story building are workers working in the industries of the Parwanoo area, whose vehicles were parked in the building complex.  

 In one part of the building, people were taken down by ladders.  But it was not possible to get down from the top due to a fire in the vehicles parked near the stairs.  Some people on the roof panicked and jumped from the roof, while people living in the building said that people were tied to bed sheets and were safely rescued.

The injured were taken to ESI Hospital, where they were referred to Chandigarh after first aid.  ESI hospital medical superintendent Dr. Kapil said that five people were referred to Chandigarh after giving first aid. The police have registered a case and further investigations were in progress
