Mercury sizzles at 40.4 degrees in Una on Sunday

Mercury sizzled to 40.4 degrees Celsius on Sunday recording the highest temperature of this summer season, Indian Meteorological Department said.

The maximum temperature of Una town along the Punjab-HP border sizzled to an all-time high this season as it was 40.4 degrees and 2.6 degrees above normal.

The maximum temperature of Shimla also climbed to 25 degrees and 1.6 degrees above normal. Hamirpur was 36 degrees. Bilaspur 34.5, Chamba, Kangra, Nahan, and Mandi 33, Solan 32, Dharmshala 30 degrees, Jubberhati airport 29, Bhuntar 27.3 degrees, Kalpa 15.2 and Dalhousie 21.3.

A Minimum temperature continue to be stayed below normal as Keylong was two degrees, Shimla 15.8 degrees, Bhuntar airport 10.4, Kalpa 4.5, Dharamshala 12.2.  Una 18.  Solan 13, Manali 8.4, Kangra 16.9 -Mandi 14, Bilaspur and Hamirpur 15 each -Chamba 13.4, Dalhousie 14.5 and Jubberhatti 13.8 airport Kufri 13.4 and Narakanda 10.5.

In the past 24 hrs, Sangala in Kinnuar had 1.6 mm of rain, Kufri one, and Mandi 1.4 degrees.
