Lawrence school organises global career fair
The Lawrence School in association with UNIWIZARD career fairs organised The Global Career Fair 2022 for the students of class IX, X, XI and XII on its premises at Sanawar, today.
Around four hundred students interacted one to one with the representatives from 40 universities from across the globe including Australia, Canada, Dubai, India, Scotland, Switzerland, U.K and USA.
School headmaster Himmat Singh Dhillon who inaugurated the fair encouraging the students said, “It is very important to be well-informed before we make our career choices. I am glad that representatives from over three dozen highly ranked universities from across the globe have gathered here to inform you and help you find the best university you want for yourself. You must make the most of this wonderful opportunity.”
Majority of the students sought information on the courses offered and the admission process, many wanted to know about scholarships and financial aid offered by the universities.
He said that in today’s era of changing pedagogy in favour of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to education, many students keenly enquired about various multidisciplinary programmes offered by universities. Some students also sought information on new-age career opportunities and the placement records of the universities.
The students of class X, XI, and XII attended the fair in the first half of the day whereas the students of class IX availed the opportunity in the latter half of the day. Moreover, over fifty students from St. Mary’s convent school, Kasauli also visited the school campus to attend the fair and benefit from the information imparted. The parents and students both applauded the initiative saying that the visit was very rewarding and the students are a lot more aware and confident now about making their choices after their higher secondary education. The Headmaster Dhillon thanked Jyotsana Harjai, the School Counsellor for successfully coordinating this initiative.
