Kisan Sabha to start agitation if Koti College construction work not expedited : Dr Kuldeep Singh Tanwar

Agitation for the construction of Koti degree college building postponed

Directorate of Education asked for 15 days time

Processes to start building construction will be completed soon

To start the construction of the building of Koti Degree College soon, the strike of the Kisan Sabha has been postponed for the time being. This decision was taken after the Directorate of Education assured to complete all the formalities to start the construction of the building within 15 days.

It may be noted that on May 9, Himachal Kisan Sabha had demonstrated in Koti with local panchayat representatives and public, in which the Education Department was demanded to expedite the construction of the building of Koti Degree College. During the demonstration, it was decided that if the construction process is not started soon, then there will be a dharna in the Directorate of Education. This was informed to the Education Department through email.

Regarding this issue, a delegation led by the State President of Himachal Kisan Sabha reached the Directorate of Education on Monday and called for progress report from Additional Director (College) Dr. Pramod Chauhan and Joint Director Dr. Ashit Kumar Mishra in this regard. Dr. Mishra, Joint Director Education, spoke to the Engineer of the Public Works Department and apprised the delegation that the construction work of the college building would start soon.

On the other hand, State President of Kisan Sabha, Dr. Kuldeep Singh Tanwar said that even after this warning memorandum, if the education department does not start the work within the stipulated time, then the Kisan Sabha will not hesitate to take strong steps. Dr. Tanwar also raised questions on the poor functioning of the Public Works Department for delay in construction work. Dr. Tanwar said that the Public Works Department is not taking the construction of Koti Degree College seriously. He said that if this attitude of the Public Works Department continues, then the Kisan Sabha will protest against it as well.
