Four died and three were injured in a road mishap in Lahaul & Sirmaur
Four people died and three others sustained injuries in a separate road accident that occurred in Lahaul-Spiti and Sirmaur districts in Himachal Pradesh on Saturday.
A report arriving here said that an Alto Car (Alto Car No. 41 1307) fell down in a deep gorge at Lingti Kaza village in the Spiti Subdivision of Lahaul Spiti district this evening. District Public Relations Officer Ajay Banyal told us that three died on the spot and two suffered injuries.
The deceased are identified as driver Tashi Chhering(57) belonged to Lalung, Tehsil Spiti, Dharam Singh(45) resident of Chwala village post of Parola, District Uttarkashi if Uttrakhand and Laxman Garthi(43) r/o Kala Mati, District Salyan, Nepal.
Injured identified as Devinder Rawat(30) r/o Pali Ghat, PO Panchala, Tehsil Juni Chandi, Distt. Jajarkot Karnali, Nepal and Raghu43) r/o Makhana, PO & Tehsil Parila, Distt. Uttarkashi.
In another mishap, an apple-laden pickup laden rolled into a deep gorge at Naineti on the Sanaura-Neripul road in the Sirmaur district this morning. The driver of the vehicle succumbed to injuries on the spot while others suffered injured and is admitted, at Regional Hospital Solan.
The vehicle lost control and fell into a 150 feet deep gorge near Naineti at around 0500 hrs on Saturday.
The boxes of apples kept in it were scattered in the cover and the pickup flew away.
The deceased was identified as Dei Ram (55). Both persons were residents of Rusla village of Nerwa of Shimla district.
According to the in-charge police post-Yashwantnagar ASI Govind Ram, a pick-up loaded with apples was going to Parwanoo from Chopal of Shimla district.
