In a massive operation, 255 People trapped in Chandertal and Batal rescued
All the 255 people trapped in Chandertal have been rescued on the fourth day of the rescue operation.
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu himself reached Losar and reviewed the rescue operation in Losar.
After this, Tribal Minister Jagat Singh Negi and Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sanjay Awasthi were sent along with the rescue team.
The rescue operation was successfully organized under the chairmanship of ADC Rahul Jain. The Minister and the Chief Parliamentary Secretary directed the rescue team to review the rescue operation on July 12 at 0130hrs near Kujumpas.
During this, a team of some youths from Losar village Batal was sent who informed them that some people were trapped.
After this, the minister informed Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh about this through phone. The Chief Minister immediately instructed that another team should be sent and rescue should be done under any circumstances.
The administration formed a team of youths from local Spiti and sent them to Batal with vehicles. Around midnight, 52 people were rescued from Batal and were brought to Losar late in the night.
On the other hand, on the third day, 26 kilometers of the road were covered with snow in the work of opening the way to rescue the people trapped in Chandertal, it was rescued at 1325
Three JCBs were pressed into service which included private operators, BRO, and companies. At around 1345hrs the Chief Minister spoke to the Minister and the Chief Parliamentary Secretary via satellite to get an update about the rescue operation.
The Chief Minister instructed that people should be rescued immediately. After this, the minister held a meeting with SP Mayank Chaudhary, ADC Rahul Jain, and SDM Harsh Negi and decided that the rescue operation would be done from 0530hrs
After rescuing around 1500 hrs the first vehicle of the tourist reached Losar. Here the Losar Mahila Mandal welcomed them by wearing Khattak.
There, a small necklace was arranged. Tourists were taken from Kunjam Top to Kaza by HRTC’s three, Tempo Traveler 10 including 17 local people’s Blair campers.
Tribal Development Minister Jagat Negi included the operators of all three JCBs, the youth of Losar, Pangmo. In which Namka, Gyalsan, Chhairing Dorje, Tashi Keshang, Namgyal, Tenzin Zangpo, Takpa Ishe, Pemba Tshering, Tenzin Kunfun, Gram Panchayat Pradhan Losar Rinchin Dolma were honored.
ADC Rahul Jain said the rescue team consisted of SDM, Tehsildar Bhumika Jain, Naib Tehsildar Prem Chand, TAC members Keshangg Rapchik, Veer Bhagat, BRO along with around 70 youths from other villages of Lidang, Losar Kibber, Chichum, Kaza Spiti, ITBP, Police, New Age India Company and Garg & Garg Company, Lambardar Losar were included.
Tribal Development Minister Jagat Singh Negi said that the Losar Mahila Mandal and Yuvak Mandal, who played a role in the rescue, have announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh. Along with this, a rescue training camp will be organized for Mahila Mandal and youth. He said that the Chief Minister was supervising the entire rescue operation.
Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sanjay Awasthi said that the manner in which the local people have played a role in this rescue is commendable. JCB operator Sukhdev has driven JCB continuously for 21 to 18 hours. It is because of them that the whole road has been restored. The officials of the Spiti administration implemented the rescue in a very good manner.
