IMD forecast revival of SW Monsoon, Orange alert in 8 districts of Himachal Pradesh
South West Monsoon system remained dormant during the last five days likely to revive in the state as Indian Meteorological Department forecast heavy rainfall in many places of the state and sounds an orange alert in eight districts and a yellow alert in the rest of the state.
According to Met Office, Monsoon activities was confined to a few places in Kangra and Chamba district as Ghamroor (Kangra) had 45.2 mm of rain, Palanpur 33 mm, Nahan(Sirmaur) 21.7 mm and Guler (Kangra) 21.2 mm. The rest of the places were mainly dry and partly cloudy and received insignificant downpours.
In the next three hours districts Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Sirmaur, Kullu, Solan, Una, Mandi, and Shimla may have heavy rainfall in a few places while widespread rainfall also occurs in these districts.
IMD issued a Yellow alert for the next four days forecasting widespread rainfall in most places in the state. Met Office also warned of thunderstorms and lightning in isolated places during inclement weather conditions.
There is no large change in the minimum and Maximum temperature in the past 24 hrs.
