Himachal Govt to stop incentives for Industries failing to provide employment avenues for the state youth: Harsh Vardhan Chauhan

Himachal Pradesh Government announced in the state assembly on Friday that the government would stop the incentives extended to industries in the state if they would not provide employment avenues to the 80 percent of local Himachali youth.

The government would also ensure that the industries would only allowed to be set up in the state and provide employment 80 percent employment to state youths. 

This was stated by the Industries Minister Harsh Vardhan Chauhan responding to a joint question by MLAs KL Thakur and Indra Dutt Lakhanpal.  The minister said that he would ask for the records of jobs given to state youths from every industry on the basis of their family and village. 

Replying to the question, He said that at present there are 27,719 industries in the state in which 228977 employees are working.  Of these, 186289 employees are Himachali which is 81.36 percent.  The minister said that there are 2714 industries in the industrial area BBN in which 72.60 percent of Himachalis have been given employment.
