Himachal Govt generated additional revenue of Rs 520 Cr from liquor auction cum tender policy
Himachal Pradesh Government generated additional revenue of Rs 520 Crore adopting auction cum tendering policy of L-2 and L-14 liquor vends in the state. Making suo-moto statement on the new excise policy Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that changing prevailing renewal policy of liquor vends excise department adopted auction cum tender policy of L1 and L-14 Liquor vends in the state and auction have held on March 16, 17 and 18, 2023. He said that the department succeeded in auctioning the most of the vends on the increased rate which have earned Rs 520 Crore additional revenue. He said that compared to the auction of liquor outlets on the renewal policy last year, the government has earned Rs 1296 Cr. revenue however in the year 2023-24 retailed shops total revenue of 1815 Cr was collected which is Rs 520 Cr of previous auction. He said that in Solan district hike of 31.69 pc was found in liquor vends, Kullu 46.11 pc, Haimpur 23.45 pc, Kinnuar 66 pc , Lahaul Spiti and Pangi 24 pc, Kangra 38, Shimla 44, Baddi police district 59, Bilaspur 25, Nurpor 36. Sirmaur 47 pc, Mandi 39 pc, Una 52 pc and Chamba 37 pc.The Chief Minister said that all the district states recorded a hike of 39.97 pc which is the highest ever. Mr Sukhu said that who hold the portfolio of finance said that if government would have adopted the old policy of vending it would got loss of 370 Crore in the renewal of vends. Mr Sukhu said that the Government has laid the target of generating Rs 2800 Crore from the adopting new excise policy as Rs 120 Crore is also likely to be hiked form Milk cess.
