CPM seeks judicial probe into IGMC fire mishap
The state unit of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) demands a judicial inquiry into the incident of fire in the canteen built on the attic floor of the new OPD block of IGMC.
Former mayor of Shimla Sanjay Chauhan said that without indulging in corruption allotment of this canteen by the administration couldn’t be possible without completing any legal tender process.
Seeking strict legal action against the errant official party demanded that whoever is involved in this corruption would be proven guilty.
Terming the loss and burning of public property a criminal offense Chauhan said that loss caused by mishap should be recovered from the culprits.
According to the preliminary assessment, the loss to the tune of Rs 60 lakh has been estimated.
This incident in IGMC has exposed the poor functioning of the government and administration. Earlier, the previous BJP government also hastily inaugurated the incomplete work of this building.
To date, it has neither been provided with proper fire fighting equipment nor has obtained the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Fire Department for such buildings.
Which exposes a big negligence of the administration.
The Party accused the IGMC administration of indulging in repent corruption he said that lakhs of rupees were spent unnecessarily from the government exchequer on furniture and furnishings for this canteen.
This is surprising that after the formation of the new government, the administration dedicated the new OPD to the public in incomplete buildings.
Even now this building has been closed by the administration due to damage caused by fire and OPD has been set up in the old OPD building forcing patients to face a lot of trouble.
