Count down begins in HP to resume OPS 

Here is a good news for three lakh state Employees and about 1.80 beneficiary of NPS that count down begins to resume old Pension Scheme with fixing meeting of newly inducted council of ministers. The Sukhwinder Singh government after all decide to swallowed bitter pills by giving green waiver for Old Pension Scheme. Cabinet Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan told media person here today that first cabinet meeting was scheduled on January 13.  Harshvardhan Chauhan, minister without portfolio in Sukhu government, made this claim in a conversation with the media today.  Harshvardhan Chouhan said that the Jairam government bankrupt state by indulging unproductive expenditure now inherited empty state coffer to Congress government. He said that  Sukhu government would fulfill the promise with the Employees. Harshvardhan Chouhan said that in the very first meeting of the cabinet, the seal will be put in the matter of OPS.  The Finance Department has prepared a complete blueprint and two-three options have been suggested.  After brainstorming on these in the cabinet meeting, a decision would be taken and OPS will be restored.  He further added that this will not put much financial burden on the state.  Since 2003, there are only 23 thousand employees who have retired.  Regarding the portfolio allocation, Harshvardhan Chouhan said that perhaps the portfolios will be divided today.  He said that the Jairam government had opened thousands of institutions, if the government had run them, the state government would have spent five thousand crores annually, so they had to be de notified.
