Bad weather: Himachal CM chopper makes Emergency landing near Rampur
In a narrow escape, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s helicopter have to make an Emergency landing at Rampurbushair in Shimla district on Thursday as the chopper couldn’t land at scheduled Heliped.
According to the security staff of the CMO, the chopper pilot at the last moment have to take the aircraft about 500 meters away from a private JP Heliped at Beethal near Rampur.
The emergency landing reportedly happened due to a major breach in CMO schedule landing as Heliped was under capacity to accommodate the landing of big aircraft.’Only light choppers usually could land at designated Heliped.’
The pilot realizing the small size of the helipad changed his mind and took landing about 500 meters away in the empty field.
It is worthwhile to mention that after the heavy loss of property and life Chief Minister conducted frequent tours of affected places in the Shimla district.
When Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh’s chopper schedule was changed last minute district administration informed that the helicopter was supposed to land at Bithal in Rampur, but the helicopter could not land at the marked spot.
” After this, in a hurry, the pilot had to land the helicopter at a distance of 500 meters from the marketplace. ” security staff informed the media person.
The staff member confirmed that the Emergency landing was safe and everyone on the board is safe.
In the helicopter, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu was accompanied by Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh, Theog MLA Kuldeep Singh Rathore, and Chief Minister’s personal security officer.
The local administration had made a helipad in the project premises of JSW Company, but the landing could not take place here.
Earlier on Wednesday, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu visited the affected areas in Rampur and Theog assembly constituencies and met the people. The state has suffered a loss of about six thousand crore rupees so far.
