Kachnar trees laden with flowers are enhancing the beauty of the forests of the Junga region these days. Kachnar vegetable is not only tasty but also full of medicinal properties. In Ayurveda, Kachnar is used to make medicines for various diseases. Note that Kachnar trees grow naturally in the forests, the petals and flowers which bloom in spring are used for vegetables in rural areas. Which is devoid of toxic elements and full of organic properties. Kachnar, which people also call Karyalti in the local language. It is used to make vegetables and raita in rural areas. The pickle of Kachnar buds is very tasty as well as works as a medicine.
According to Ayurveda expert Dr. Vishwabandhu Joshi, Kachnar vegetable is full of medicinal properties and Kachnar bark is also used in making Ayurvedic medicines. He says that Kachnar bark is the best medicine for dissolving lumps in any part of the body. Apart from this, its bark is used in the treatment of blood disorders, and skin diseases like itching, eczema, boils, etc.
Dayaram Verma, a senior citizen of Peeran, says that these days, the village is full of pure wild vegetables, including Kachnar, Kathi buds, Ramban’s Gova, Fegda, soft leaves of Khadki, Chhuchh growing in the ravines, etc. He says that the vegetables grown naturally in the forests have plenty of minerals and nutrients, which act as a panacea for various diseases, which people should use in every season. He said that the nutrients of the vegetables available in the market are lost due to the use of chemical fertilizers. He says that in the past, the villagers used vegetables grown in nature, which made people healthy, while the younger generation does not like wild vegetables much.
