Temporary relief and rehabilitation centers have been set up for affected people: Ashutosh Garg DC Kullu

Deputy Commissioner Ashutosh Garg, while presiding over the meeting of the heads of departments of the district today, asked the officers of all the departments to work in coordination and coordination.  So that the situation arising due to heavy rains and floods can be dealt with effectively.  He said that the district administration is giving top priority to the rehabilitation of the affected people due to floods and heavy rains and important steps have been taken for this.  Temporary relief and rehabilitation centers have been set up at Government Primary School, Lanka Backer and Ranbasera Bus Stand, besides this, temporary relief and rehabilitation centers have also been set up at Baba Balak Nath Sarai and Mahila Mandal Shastri Nagar, where flood and heavy rains affected people.  He said that free arrangements for their food and stay have been made by the district administration and Forest Sub Divisional Officer Kullu and Forest Officer Shamsi have been deputed to look after this work.  The responsibility of water supply has been entrusted to the Jal Shakti Department.  No information is being received. He said that efforts are being made to restore mobile network in Manali, Kasol and Tirthan Valley and senior officials of BSNL, Airtel and Jio have been asked to take necessary steps to restore mobile network. 

   He said that the power supply in the district has also been completely disrupted and now efforts are being made to ensure alternative power supply from the Malana hydropower project.  He said that a police personnel has been sent to Malana with a satellite phone to establish contact with the Malana Power Project management so that power supply can be restored by contacting them.

   He instructed the Jal Shakti Department that until the lift and gravity drinking water schemes are not smooth, water supply should be ensured through borewells and water should be made available to relief centers through tankers.

    He also directed the Public Works Department to take necessary steps for the rehabilitation of blocked roads.

    He said that Kasol Manikaran valley has also been completely cut off and satellite phone is being sent to get information about the situation and damage there. He asked the police department to prepare a list of tourists staying in various hotels and homestays in the district.  Gave instructions to do so. He has instructed the officials of the Forest Department to prepare a list of the people who have been kept in the temporary relief and rehabilitation centre.  He said that funds are being released to Jal Shakti Department, Public Works Department and Electricity Department for the restoration of drinking water schemes, roads and electricity supply.  Additional Superintendent of Police Sakshi Verma, Additional Additional District Magistrate Prashant Sarkek, DFO Kullu Angel Chauhan, DFO Shamshi Praveen Thakur SE Public Works Rajeev Sharma, SE Jal Shakti Vibhag and officers of various departments were present in the meeting.
