Education Minister, Rohit Thakur chaired second meeting of the State Advisory Council under the Right to Education Act (RTE)-2009 here today. Various aspects related to education were discussed in the meeting.
In Section-12 of RTE, provision has been made to reserve 25 percent seats in private schools for the children of economically weaker section and disadvantaged groups. Commendable work has been done in the state under this provision. In the academic year 2023-24, a total of 3402 children have got admission in the first class in private educational institutions. The state government is bearing educational expenses of these children.
The Education Minister instructed to ensure resource rooms for special children in all district headquarters. Discussions were held to take these resource cells up to the block level. The Education Minister directed to set up a state level task force to decide the age of admission to the first class.
