Rampur Bhushair Scion & Son of soil Shimla Rural head on 

Rampur Bushair royal dynasty’s Scion Vikarmadity Singh and son of soil from and ABVP activist Ravi Mehta are headon in Shimla rural constituency on Congress and BJP tickets. Virkmaaditya Singh who is son of former Chief Minister Virbhadra SIngh and sitting MLA from Gramin Shimla this time facing for 2nd tems the Kailash Federation vice chairman and District Shimla BJP president Ravi Mehta. Mehta belonged to Anandpur and Shoghi is his stronghold . Mr Vikramadiaty Snigh won the 2017 assembly election from BJP candidate Parmod Sharma of 4,880 votes this time Parmod Sharma did not get tickets and the party decided to test son of the soil. Election campaign of Mr Vikramaditya was conducted by AICC president Malikarjun Kharge. Samarti Ironi was the main election campaigner for Mr Mehta who held a number of public meetings. Union Minister Anurag Thakur also canvassed in favour of Mr Mehta but Chief Minister Jairam Thakur did not come for his canvassing. Jai Ram Thakur being too close to Holilodge enjoys good relations. In the last 5 years Parmod Sharma did not make contact with the electorate; however, the BJP government cleared all proposals of Vikramaditya Singh. BJP having no choice and lost connect with the masses due to absence of former candidate Parmod Sharma party trying Mr Mehta as a new young terk. The local residents say that Mehta is very much in contests and it is not one sided contests. The BJP almost left Mr Mehta alone baring Samariti Ironi from Shimla rural. 2012 Virbhadra Singh also fought from this assembly but he left it to his royal son Vikramditya Singh. Vikramaditya Singh has Sunni, Palah and Dhami areas as strongholds, Mr Mehta succeeded to increase lead in Shogi, Anandpur, Totu and Jubberhati areas owing to  his affinity with the local residents. He is more accessible than Mr Vikramaditya Singh. Mr Singh has no blessing from his father but he also enjoys the sympathy wave. The Jai Ram Thakur government canceled the notification for  Powabo Government degree colleges despite his father and he having good relations with the Chief Minister. The aiflights could not resume for the last ten year at Airport Jubbarhatti which was started recently by introduction of a Uddan subsidized flight. Number of villages are coming under merged area and under increasing control width upto 50 meter under TCP causing trouble to the local resident. Former BJP candidate Parmod Sharma who showed resentment over not allotting ticket to him initially now canvassing with Mr Mehta . Making a sharp attack on Singh Mr Sharma questioned the disproportionate increase of property of Mr Singh compared to his source of income. He said that Virbhadra Singh’s son should tell the public when he did his graduate and postgraduate degrees. Sharma may help Mehta to galvanized support in the stronghold of Singh. There are aroud 77773 voters in Shimla rural.
