Rain-damaged Gawahi-Kadog link road will be restored on a priority basis for ambulances: Vikramaditya Singh

Public Works, Youth Services, and Sports Minister Vikramaditya Singh today inspected the Anadel Kainchi Mod-Gawahi-Kadog link road damaged due to heavy rains and took stock of the broken road at different places.

 On this occasion, the Cabinet Minister said that due to the disaster caused by heavy rains in the last two months, there has been a huge loss of life and property in the state and most of the roads in the state have been blocked, the work of repairing them is going on war footing and now.

  Till now 80 percent of the roads have been restored. The government is making every possible effort to normalize the situation and provide relief and rehabilitation to the people. He said that Shimla city has also seen huge damage this rainy season. Due to the breaking of many old and new trees, houses have also been damaged which will take time to repair.

 Trees will be cut only after permission and inspection from the Tree Authority. He said that after the cases of unnecessary cutting of trees by some people in Shimla city under the cover of this disaster, a Tree Authority has been constituted under the chairmanship of the Municipal Corporation Commissioner, whose trees can be cut only after permission and inspection. He said that houses have been constructed haphazardly by the people, due to which they have had to suffer the consequences during this rainy season. He said that in the future the law related to this will be strictly implemented so that loss of life and property can be avoided in case of disaster.

 He said that in view of the huge loss, relief is also expected from the Central Government. He hopes that the Central Government will soon release the first installment of relief in this difficult time.
