Pratibha to demand special status for Himachal from Central Government

State Congress President MP Pratibha Singh has said that she will demand the central government to restore the special status of Himachal Pradesh, under which there is a provision of a 90 percent grant for the implementation of development schemes in the state. She said that keeping in view the difficult geographical conditions of the state, she would raise this demand in the Parliament as well.

Pratibha Singh said here today that she has returned from a four-day tour of her parliamentary constituency Mandi. Heavy rains and floods in his parliamentary constituency Mandi have caused loss of life and property. Many roads, bridges, and many buildings were washed away in this area. There has been huge damage to private and government property worth crores. She has said that due to heavy rains and floods, crops of farmers and gardeners have also been destroyed and they also need to be given relief. She said that it would take a long time to heal the wounds caused by this calamity. She said that in this time of disaster, the government is making all possible efforts to provide relief and rehabilitate the people.

She has appealed to all the office bearers and workers of the Congress party to contribute something or the other in the relief fund for the relief works. She has said that this is the time to share with the disaster-affected people who have lost their property along with their loved ones in this calamity.

Pratibha Singh has also urged the general public to contribute to the relief fund so that rehabilitation works can be expedited.
