State Congress President and MP All India Congress Working Committee member Pratibha Singh has ordered the administration to restore roads affected by heavy rains and floods in Mandi parliamentary constituency soon. She has also asked the district deputy commissioners of Mandi and Kullu to restore the connectivity roads of apple-dominated areas soon and make adequate transport arrangements for the transportation work so that the orchardists do not face any problems.
Pratibha Singh said here today that she would soon undertake a comprehensive tour of the Mandi parliamentary constituency. She said that due to heavy rains and blockage of roads, he had to postpone his earlier proposed Mandi visit. She has assured the affected people that no stone will be left unturned by the state government in relief and reconstruction work. She said that due to heavy rains, there has been a huge loss of life and property in the state. Many roads have been broken, many roads have been closed due to landslides, which the administration and the Public Works Department are making all efforts to open.
Praising Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, Pratibha Singh has said that she is keeping an eye on self-relief and reconstruction and is giving necessary guidelines. She said that she has also demanded additional funds to be made available to the Central Zone Public Works Department, Mandi, so that the roads closed due to landslides can be restored soon. She said that the Chief Minister has given his in-principle approval to this demand.
Pratibha Singh has thanked the Chief Ministers of Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Karnataka for giving relief amount to the state government to deal with the natural calamity in the state. She has said that the State Congress will always be grateful to the Chief Ministers of the three states for the help they have given to the state in the time of this disaster.
